Enjoy the painted scenes of life in the early 1900s that dot the streetscape as you discover the sights and shops of downtown Aurora along this urban arts trail. Visit the studio/gallery of the Southeastern Indiana Art Guild artists who worked in association with Main Street Aurora to paint the historical scenes of Windows of Aurora.
Dine in Aurora’s landmark estates during a Twilight Tour Progressive Mansions Dinner. Gather in the double parlors of Hillforest Victorian House Museum for an elegant catered dinner followed by a tour of the mansion by costumed docents. Home to industrialist and financier Thomas Gaff and his family between 1855 and 1891, the mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1992. Explore Veraestau Historic Site and enjoy the ambience, the grounds and beautiful view of the river valley. Help yourself to coffee or tea and a delightful dessert buffet. Veraestau is operated by Historic Landmark Foundations of Indiana and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Discover Fall Mums, Farms & Markets. Create a hands-on sunflower or mini-pumpkin floral arrangement and enjoy a “Fall Mum Decorating” demo at McCabe’s Greenhouse & Floral in Lawrenceburg. Tour the greenhouses, shop for home & garden accessories, and sample McCabe’s freshly made fudge. (Two mums are included!)
